On the 5th of July 2023, Swift Path Solutions hosted a scientific discussion under the theme, “Refining the H&E stain to establish Consistency, Reproductibility and improve quality.” This discussion brought together the histopathology fraternity who play an instrumental role in ensuring that diagnosis of disease is detected with accuracy.nnWe were honoured to have Dr. Robert Lukande, MBChB, MMed, FCPath(ECSA), Senior Lecturer and Laboratory Director, Mulago National Referral Hospital who emphasized in his presentation how H&E is still “King”, and the top process of staining.nnIn addition, Miss Linda Cherepow, Certified Histotechnologist, Global Histology Consultants, explained more about how improper staining processes affect the result of the slides.nnThere was a presentation about handling and management of formalin. This stressed out the importance of proper disposal procedures.
